Summary of : Audit of a CA

CA Rucha Sarda is an author to the bestseller novel, "Audit of a CA." She aspires to bring a change in lives of the CA students and bring out the best version of them through her Youtube channel and mentoring sessions. She serves as a guide on this roller coaster journey of a student as she has been on this path before.

Having a 3 years experience in a Finance firm, she takes care of her passion for writing through her personal website. She has  been three times state level Carrom player. She has successfully completed 2 levels of katthak exams and she is a Freelancer writer.

"Audit of a CA" book explains a journey of a CA student inside out and gives some handy insights and lessons. Everyone thinks CAs lead a very mundane life but they do have the drama and lead an interesting lives.

This book also unveils the intricacies about the CA Course. It’s an interesting and comic story which every CA student can relate in one or the other way and also leaves a trail of healthy lessons and a strong messages which will help you build a successful career.

CA Foundation- The Highway :

The story starts with a driver (ICAI) and four friends namely,
Facebook - who always faces the book.
Pinterest  - who has deep interest in the course
Instagram - who instantly solves any problem
Twitter  - who is a free bird believing in shortcuts.

All four friends handover the toll fees to the driver (ICAI) and driver in return gives a pile of books. All start their preparation except Twitter, who chills and believes that pass percentage will be high.

The day comes for examination. As expected Twitter doesn't perform well and he doesn't care about it. Twitter plans for the vacation after exams ended.

One month passes and the weather changes, results are out. Unfortunately, Twitter has to get down the car. He learns casual attitude can breed danger.

CA Intermediate- The Ghat :

The driver (ICAI) asks money to fill the tank and enter the ghat (CA inter registration).
Now the three friends get another pile of books. They get prepared for their classes in masses.

The author lists different type of students in coaching classes namely

1. The stationery students who have different color pens with sticky note.

2. The question markers who always raise their hands and ask questions.

3. The food hogging tribe who eats some snacks to pay attention in class.

4. The nap master who feels tired and sleeps in air conditioned class.

5. The late latifs who snooze their alarms and get late for class.

6. The booking agents who reserve the seat for their friends so that no one else enter their kingdom.

Exam- Panic attack :

After the classes and B.Com exams, CA inter exam fear drives us crazy. As number of days reduce, the pressure among students increases. One thing remains constant, "I will study from tomorrow".

During the examination, the student who has filled up half of the answer sheet feels pretty satisfied until a voice from back echoes "Teacher supplement please".

Instagram too suffers from this panic attack.
Soon after the exams are over, students are mandated to complete ITT and Orientation course. This course develops the soft skills.

After two months, the results day arrives. No one expects but it actually happens. Instagram, talented guy fails. Meanwhile Facebook and Pinterest celebrate their success. Instagram gets out of the car thinking that, if GST would be applicable on his marks, he would have surely passed.

CA articleship- The tunnel :

As the car moves, there is a toll named FORM-102. Facebook decides to take dummy route. While Pinterest decides to continue with tunnel. Articleship is a training for three years which can be done in small firms, or mid sized firms, or big4 firms.

After getting selected in a firm, Pinterest enters the new office with brand new dress. Our eyes get welled up when people call us 'Sir/Madam'.

There are times of high pressure in office. As there are no holidays, may it be a national holiday. Even doctors have their timings written outside their clinic but CA doesn't have that.

CA Final- The Kuccha road :

Soon after the tunnel ends, the time between the exams and results is devastating. The slogan of ICAI should be, " Expect the unexpected". Facebook who choosed dummy route passed but Pinterest failed.

Pinterest suffers from post results syndrome. He prepares for upcoming attempt. He motivates himself by saying, "This is the last attempt of your life".

Conclusion :

Finally, after a year Pinterest passes his exam with AIR-3 in third attempt. Now coincidentally, Facebook and Pinterest apply for a job at same multinational company. Facebook who had choosed dummy route couldn't find jobs. Pinterest got selected in the interview while Facebook was rejected as he had no working experience.

The driver (ICAI) bids good bye to Pinterest with a smile.
